Istanbul F1 Gone!

The Turkish F1 Grand Prix has been dropped from the F1 Calender for the 2012 season.

This is a real shame since we enjoy a varied calender, Istanbul was a great circuit.
The reports are saying that F1 never got a grip with the local population, but they have this the wrong way round. F1 'BRINGS' its own fans with it;

OR IT WOULD DO IF THE COST OF TRACK-SIDE TICKETS WERE REALISTIC.

This is something I feel strongly about, because the astronomical cost of attending a race is prohibitive to many, and I would go as far as to say 'most F1 fans'. I bet that there are a lot more TV fans than there are visiting fans and I also sure that, given the chance, 'most' TV fans would opt to attend an F1 race rather than just watch it on TV!

Istanbul is gone and the cost of building an F1 track is now totally wasted, the Turkish people have a lower annual income than most of the rest of the world. Is there any wonder why they do not attend?

The cost is too expensive by far.
This blog does not have the large following of the top F1 blogs I know, but I would like to do a pole to see if people agree that the cost of F1 attendance is prohibitive to most F1 Fans.

Pole Position.
