I wonder if Perez found coming 3rd 'boring' today? I would say, Perez is not a good spokesperson for F1 and in particular, his opinion should not count, because from a drivers / participants point of view, just watching the sport you usually participate in, will always pale into insignificance.
Participants are usually the hands on types, especially at the higher skill levels required in F1. When you become exceptional at anything, like Perez is an exceptional F1 driver; just watching is never good enough for you.
All F1 drivers are exceptional drivers, that's why they are in F1 - its the elite of the elite of race drivers. So, I say again, in my opinion, Perez is not a good judge of what the common fans find interesting about F1.
If F1 is boring, the only people to blame is the commentators.
But, the BBC crew make the best F1 commentators; especially with David Coulthard bringing his keen eye for detail and experience to the F1 commentary, he like Eddie Jordan can do great F1 commentary even through a rained-off session and make it interesting!
In that scenario, Perez would not find that commentary interesting, because he knows all of that stuff too well.
As an F1 fan, I've been an F1 race fan longer than Perez has even been alive, so my opinion should count stronger than Perez! F1 is not boring! If you find F1 boring, then you are not an F1 fan, (Perez is not an F1 fan, he's a driver). If you think F1 is boring, go and watch golf or other sport of your interest!
